Amman, Sept. 21 (Petra) – European airlines are resuming scheduled flights to and from Jordan following the removal of the Kingdom from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Conflict Zone Information Bulletin, the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) said Monday.

CARC Board of Commissioners Chairman Deifallah Farajat said Hungary’s Wizz Air will resume flights to Queen Alia International Airport on Tuesday, operating twice weekly after a couple months' suspension.

Farajat said the first returning Wizz Air flight is expected to arrive with a high passenger load, reflecting continued demand for travel to Jordan. He added that the resumption of European flights is expected to boost tourism and commercial activity.

He also said Ryanair is scheduled to resume operations at the end of October, linking Jordan with four major European destinations and expanding low-cost travel options.

According to a CARC statement, the resumption follows technical discussions between CARC and EASA that led to Jordan’s removal from the agency’s Conflict Zone Information Bulletin.

The change lifted the recommendation for European airlines to avoid operating flights to Jordan and replaced it with a requirement for individual operators to conduct risk assessments before launching or resuming services.

Farajat said CARC would continue coordinating with international partners and airlines on aviation safety and security standards, as well as efforts to attract additional international carriers to Jordanian airports.
